St Teresa’s Church, Kampong Bahru

It’s a beautiful church. A classmate of mine from St Patrick’s was the parish priest there for a while. I bumped into him while photographing this building a few years ago (this picture is from this week). But the story of our meeting, for when we meet.

The church was established in 1929. It was the first rural church catering to the Hokkien-speaking Catholics during the colonial era. It is the only church in Singapore designed in the style of Romano-Byzantine architecture.

Go here for a fantastic write-up on this church.
